Bridges, elevated highways and tunnels

PCR information

This document provides Product Category Rules (PCR) for the assessment of the environmental performance of bridges and elevated highways corresponding to UN CPC 53221, and for tunnels, UN CPC 53222 and the declaration of this performance by an EPD®.

A bridge is a structure built to span physical obstacles without closing the way underneath such as a body of water, valley, or road, for the purpose of providing passage over the obstacle. An elevated highway is a controlled-access highway that is raised above grade for its entire length. Elevation is usually constructed as viaducts, typically a long pier bridge.
