Precast concrete foundation piles

The products Precast concrete foundation piles were produced at three of Peab Grundläggning’s production sites in Sweden in 2018. The pile products covered in this EPD are SP-1, SP-2, SP-3 and PP-25 and the carrying capacity of the foundation piles depends on the concrete quality and the amount of reinforcement.

Peab Grundläggning has implemented a quality- and environmental- management system according to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, which is not yet certified. The products in this EPD is registered and assessed in the Byggvarubedömningen and SundaHus. The products are designed for a service life of 100 years and are classified as L100 according to the standard SS-EN 12794:2005+A1:2007/AC:2008 Precast concrete products/foundation piles, SS-EN 13369:2018 Common rules for precast concrete products.

Concrete is 100% recyclable, which creates the opportunity to reduce the environmental impact by reducing the need for new raw materials. Based on the European waste hierarchy, the concrete can currently be recycled as filling material or ballast while the reinforcement can be recycled. In addition, the concrete contains no hazardous chemical substances for health nor the environment
