International cooperation on PCR development
21 jul 2009
Increasing interest to cooperate with the International EPD®system in its ongoing work with developing the PCR Module Initiative.
The International EPD®system continues its work developing ready-made PCR-modules with the intent to finalise and publish such documents for a majority of relevant product categories by mid-Autumn 2009. Draft documents for a number of new PCR modules for open consultation are available at the website.
The current work with standardisation of carbon footprint of organisations and products within the framework of World Resources Institute (WRI) and ISO have resulted in a demand for developing harmonised PCRs. The International EPD®system has identified an increased interest from different countries and institutions to take part in its PCR development work, e.g from the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affaires (Defra) in the UK and New Zealand Ministry of Agriculture and Food for PCRs to be applicable for products in the food sector.
The International EPD®system welcomes any party wanting to join the efforts to develop PCRs – please contact Joakim Thornéus at joakim@msr.se or Sven-Olof Ryding at sven-olof@msr.se
