ProductSolar Gard® architectural solar control window films are designed for home or commercial buildings where maintaining sunlight while reducing solar heat gain is important. Window films are thin, multi-layered sheets of optically clear film that are retrofitted to the inside surface of the glass. Solar Gard films are sputter-coated with an assortment of durable metals. The varying combinations and thickness of metals are what give the window film its specific solar performance, properties, and color.
The 2010 EPD covers 31 different window films, with widths varying between 91.5cm (36in) and 183cm (72in). Transportation to the customer and the use stage energy savings were analyzed in 24 world regions.
