According to the standard, ISO 14025, it is stated that programme operators can facilitate harmonisation when developing PCR for a product category by considering readily available PCR documents in the same product category and in the appropriate market area. Attempting to provide the market with a universal set of generally approved PCR-documents is one main objective of the international EPD®system by developing a searchable database for PCR documents. This database provides an opportunity to identify available PCR documents, PCR documents under preparation, approved PCR documents and those PCR documents that are subject for review.
Search for PCRs
If a relevant PCR doES not exist
If a PCR does not exist for the product category of interest, this has to be prepared and approved. It is recommended that all PCR documents are prepared in an open consultation and participatory process among companies and branch organisations in order to ensure the provision and input of appropriate product-specific knowledge and expertise.
